Raphael Koh

Raphael Koh is an accomplished Fine Arts lecturer and NAFA alumnus with over 20 years of teaching experience. Prior to joining NAFA's faculty in 2003, he taught at private studios and Lasalle College of the Arts. During his teaching experience, he identified a need to enhance the fundamentals of art by focusing on realism, which inspired him to establish Art Is studio.

Raphael is a three-time award recipient of The UOB Painting of The Year Competition, earning a Certificate of Commendation in 1991, a Certificate of Distinction in 1992, and First Prize for the Abstract Medium Category in 1993. He was also awarded a Certificate of Distinction in the Philippe Charriol Foundation Contemporary Art Competition in 1993/1994. Raphael's art has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the One Year After Graduation Group Exhibition at the National Museum Art Gallery in Singapore.

He received a Distinction on his Fine Arts degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia and firmly believes that realism is the most crucial language for developing artistic skills that are directly linked to life. Raphael is passionate about inspiring his students and has helped many of them become published artists, winning awards both locally and internationally.
